Lately, I have been stuck on what to write about. I have plenty of ideas, but I a bit of a writers block. I have about 3 – 4 blog posts started but can’t figure out what I really want to say and how to say it.
Today on the way home from work, I was thinking about the song “Lift Me Up” by The Afters. (This had to have been a God thing because that song wasn’t even playing on the radio.) The chorus always gives me trouble.
“You lift me up when I am weak
Your arms wrap around me
Your love catches me so
I'm letting go
You lift me up
When I can't see
Your heart is all that I need
Your love carries me so I'm letting go”
I can never get the “catches” and “carries” in the right spot, I always mix them up. So one day a while back I came up with a saying to help me remember what that “catches” comes first. “He has to catch you before He can carry you” For whatever reason (like I said, complete God thing) today I said that out loud in my car and it hit me like a ton of bricks. He has to catch you before He can carry you!!!!!!
You know that problem that you are facing that is bigger than anything you have ever been through before? The one that you just want God to carry you through because you can’t deal with it anymore? You know which one I’m talking about right? Well, in order for God to carry you through it, you have to let go of it! Let it go and fall into the arms of the Savior! And THEN He can carry you through it! Is it going to be scary? Yep. Is it going to be hard? Yep. Are you going to pick it back up again and try to “walk” on your own? From my own experience, probably… But that’s okay, because God is right there with you every step of the way waiting for you to let go so he can catch you again! He will never leave your side!
So, what am I saying? Just let it (whatever it is) go and let God carry you through it!!!!!
“Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous fall.” ~Psalm 55:22
