Takin' Out the Trash, Part 2

So, the other “trash” that’s been on my mind (and heart) lately is entertainment, music specifically.

Music has taken over the world, literally! It’s everywhere! Stores, in your car, in your house, in movies, in offices, we even carry it around with us. Now, don’t get me wrong, I LOVE my share of music, but it’s starting, no not starting, it has turned into TRASH! I realized this completely when I turned the radio station the other day. (Normally I keep it on JoyFm or Air1, and it probably hadn’t been changed to a secular station since, oh maybe November?? Or longer…) Sure some of the songs in the secular world are fine and dandy, but then there are the ones that trick you. They have a fun and catchy tune but you dnot realized what the song is actually about or what the words you are singing actually mean. Some of these songs are downright horrible, but you just don’t realize it. Okay, maybe I’m being extreme here, but honestly, why would you want to sing about all the things that, as Christians, we were taught were wrong when we could be singing about our savior! Yes I’m going all goody two shoes on you, I know, but I would much rather be listening/singing a song that’s pleasing to Jesus than a song filled with sin.

Just thought I needed to get that off my chest. Maybe a part 3 in the future??? We will see what happens ;)

  1. That is so true girl! And it is much better to have songs about Him stuck in your head than some of those other songs.
